Soothing Smoothie Recipes

You will probably find it uncomfortable to eat normal foods when you first get your braces, so it’s best to eat soft foods. Smoothies are an excellent way to get the nutrition you need without the discomfort of chewing. Here are a few recipes we recommend.

Melon Smoothie

  • 1 cup fresh watermelon
  • 1 cup fresh honeydew
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup orange juice

Pour orange juice into a blender, blend at medium speed. Add all the other ingredients. Blend.

Strawberry Pineapple Paradise

  • ¼ cup strawberry yogurt (frozen)
  • ¼ of a pineapple, cut into pieces
  • 10 frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup orange juice

Put all ingredients in a blender, blend well until smooth.

Energizing Smoothie

  • ½ cup of water
  • ¼ pineapple, cut in pieces
  • 10 strawberries
  • 2 nectarines or a mango
  • 1 banana
  • 3 ice cubes

Process everything in a blender until creamy.

Peach Nectarine Smoothie

  • 2 peaches, skin and pit removed
  • 2 nectarines, skin and pit removed
  • 1 cup apple / orange juice
  • 2 frozen bananas or 1 cup frozen strawberries

Pour juice into blender, and then add all other ingredients. Blend.

Healing Smoothie

  • 1 firm kiwi, peeled
  • ¼ cantaloupe, cut in pieces
  • 1 ripe banana

Blend all ingredients together in a blender until smooth.

Summer Tangy Cherry Milkshake

  • 12 frozen cherries
  • ½ cup cherry yogurt (frozen)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. sugar

Put all ingredients in blender, blend well until smooth.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 2 tbsp. peanut butter / almond butter
  • 1-2 squirts chocolate syrup
  • 1 tbsp. wheat germ (optional)
  • 6 ounces of milk

Put all ingredients in a blender, blend well until smooth.
